Heat Transfer Study of the Ferrofluid Flow in a Vertical Annular Cylindrical Duct under the Influence of a Transverse Magnetic Field

We studied the laminar fully developed ferrofluid flow and heat transfer phenomena of an otherwise magnetic fluid into a vertical annular duct circular cross-section uniform temperatures on walls which were subjected to transverse external field. A computational algorithm was used, coupled continuity, momentum, energy, magnetization Maxwell’s equations, accompanied by appropriate conditions, using continuity–vorticity–pressure (C.V.P.) method non-uniform grid. The results obtained for different values field strength particles’ volumetric concentration, wherein effects temperature are revealed. It is shown that axial velocity distribution highly affected pressure gradient depends almost linearly strength, while significantly increases due generated secondary flow.
